Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

Why should I hire you?
Do you always win?

No, and don’t believe anyone that tells you they do. The vast majority of charges or citations can be defended successfully or reduced. Knowledge and experience are the most realistic predictors of success. We don’t think that there is anyone out there who is more qualified than we are and we are equally confident that our fees match up favorably to any Law Firm in the Province.

Can I afford your services?

Our fees will in some cases be close to or exceed the fine amount on the face of the ticket. However, the primary reasons our clients engage our services are to save demerit points or a driver’s license and to avoid expensive insurance premium increases. The long term gains of properly defending your charge will dramatically outweigh the short term expenses of our fees.

If I have a traffic ticket, do I need to attend court?

In the majority of cases, you don’t have to. Most clients are looking for a withdrawal of the charge or a plea for a lesser charge. That may often be done without going to Court. In other cases, we may have no other choice but to go to trial, in which case your presence will be required.

If I loose my driver’s license as a result of an accumulation of demerit points, can I obtain a restricted license in order to drive?

It is possible for you to address our firm in order to obtain a restricted license provided that you respect the prescribed conditions imposed by the Highway Safety Code, provided that you have not already obtained a restricted license in the last (2) two years and that you need your driver’s license for work.

What is the consequence if I get caught by the police driving without a valid license?

You will be subject to a fine for having driven with a restricted license, but more importantly your vehicle can be seized on the spot for a minimum of (30) thirty days.

In the event I forgot to plead not guilty for a ticket and a judgment was issued by default, what can I do?

You can retain our services in order to file a Revocation of Judgment on your behalf. It is important to file said motion within fifteen (15) days of your knowledge of the Judgment and that you have a valid defense. Contact us as soon as possible to proceed.

My wife paid my ticket by mistake, what can I do to cancel everything?

It is possible for you to take proceedings in order to correct this situation and cancel the paid ticket. Call us as soon as possible so that we can help you.

What are the delays between the time that I get a ticket and the time that I receive a hearing date?

The delays may vary greatly from one jurisdiction to another. It is not unusual for the delay to be greater than one (1) year. We invite you to contact us for more details, we can verify the delays for you.
